ok ive got a 95 gsx and its time to do the clutch -- she wont hold past 8psi without slipping so its time to get a new disk and set up in there

ive decided im going with and act 2100 pp, a mitsubishi street disk, and mitsu TOB

my goals will never go above 280hsp so that set up will be safe

ok so my question is do i have to step my flywheel when i get it resurfaced?

i know you need to do that with a performance disk or performance clutch kit sooooo is there a need to do that with the stock mitsu clutch disk?

also is there any need to resurface the flywheel? im tight on money but ill shell out the cash to get it resurfaced if im gonna put it all back together and have problems

thanks guys for the input in advance

I wouldn't do anything that will cost you time and money later. Before you start, don't get an ACT. I just had my second ACT fail on daily driving, twice in 4 years. One was a 2100 street disk, the other a 2600 6 puck.

Recommendations:

1.) Fidanza Clutch 3.2
2.) Fidanza Flywheel
3.) New flywheel bolts
4.) Mitsubishi OEM throw out bearing.

You can get all of these for under $600 shipped. I know because I just ordered these from Extreme PSI last week.

Your goal should be, do it right the first time and hope you don't have to replace any of that stuff again for a long time.

check the flywheel when you pull off your clutch plate
if it looks fine and theres not a lot of wear then your fine to put it back on
but it should only cost about $40 and it would really bite if you had to pull everything off again just because you skimped out on the resurface

As stated above, it only costs $40 to resurface the flywheel & make sure the step is correct.
The "which clutch is better" debate can go on forever but I don't see anything wrong with what you have chosen for your power level, stick with it.
