I made my recirculation tube out of PVC pipe and in doing so the inside diameter of the recirculation tube is 1" and I have the type-s bov which has inside diameter of 1.25". There is also a right angle, right after the BOV will either of these cause any damage to the turbo?

Thanks,
Krummel21

why are you using pvc pipe? i would go to autozone and find some hose that fits. no i don't think it would be a restriction but i don't imagine it being very visually appealing

I had to use PVC because of the placement of teh BOV and Intake, a tube would just get kinked when trying to connect them. Are you positive though that this wouldn't send any air back to the turbo?

Thanks,

You should be just fine with the size of you pvc pipe and the material should be just fine good luck. By the way sharp looking car.

if my understanding of recirculation is correct, one reason to circulate is that it sends air into the turbo and thus helps keep it spooled in between shifts..

true but on our cars we have to do it to not mess up the air flow readings of the maf. anyways glad we could be of help. you should post some pics when you are done.

This is what I put the link for.

"the reason its not a good idea to vent to the atmosphere, is because the mass air reads how much air being ingested in to the motor threw the turbo. when the bov dumps back into the intake track the metered air remain consistent with what the meter has already read. the ECU determines how much fuel to add dependent on how much air the mass air recognizes. when you dump to the atmosphere the ECU thinks that air that is being ejected from the intake track is actually being ingested into the motor and supplies a given amount of fuel to match the metered air. but that figure is now incorrect because the air is not going into the motor its going into the air, so now you have a disproportionate air/fuel ratio between shifts. i hope that made sense"

I don't know if you took what I said out of context and thought that I was agreeing with you or what but you just repeated what I was trying to say in you last post. I put a link to that post because that is the best post that I have heard on why you shouldn't vent to the atmosphere. :thumb:

yeah i misread what you said.. it would have probably helped if i had read the link. ROFL i thought you were saying keeping the turbo spooled was the main reason for the recirculation.
