Alright so here i am once again with another problem on my DSM. I am having a weird stutter whenever I WOT. I have no problem hitting full boost as long as my foot is about 50% on the gas. If i floor it, at about 2500RPM's my car starts to stutter and stumble, it feels like fuel cut. Shortly following this i will smell, what to me smells like fuel.

Underlying problems:
I did a compression test, and it read: 115, 130, 140, 150
My CEL went on because of my TPS, but it recently went away??? (Changing Today)
I notice that my coolant resivior is full and it bubbles when i turn my car off. When i come back like 10min later, the coolant is back to its normal level.

Here is a video i posted on youtube, if its shitty let me know, I will post another.

Alright so i changed the TPS and absolutely NO change in the boost stutter. If i can get some feedback from a Wiseman or Moderator, i would appreciate it... Thanks

Defintally check plugs and wires. I had a alittle stutter in boost with my gst, and come to figure out the parts guy didn't even come close on the plugs. I called in for BPR7ES, and some how got billed for them but was given 6EC. But check the plugs and wires.

Well, that might not be the culprit, but definitely an issue. Head gasket going..???

Alright so tomorrow I will start by doing a boost leak test. Im pretty sure i dont have any serious leaks, but its worth a look. Then I am going to swap spark plugs and plug wires. As for the bad compression im going to do a leakdown later this week and if that leads me to a bad HG, looks like a simple HG swap. I will repost tomorrow with my results on the boost leak test and how the plugs and wires go for me.

BTW: Any kind of special plugs you would reccommend? I know they need to be gapped .28-.31, but i mean brand? and where would i get them?

Thanks for all the help thus far

Hey man, I've got the same problem. Mine doesn't really seem to be busting up like it would with a fouled plug or bad wire. I feel as though mine is in my crappy boost controller not being able to hold a higher boost pressure. Some people say it can be the blow off valve out of adjustment, but a boost test will determine that rather quickly.

I have also considered that it is due to the spring pressure on my Tial 38. It is my understanding that you can only push about an addition 10psi above the manufactured spring pressure in like a high/low boost control setting.

The thing that is really stumping me is the smell. If my windows are down, I can smell a strong scent of fuel/exhaust. I have no idea where it is coming from. When I do smell it, I am cruising down the road, so there is no way that is it a back draft from the tail pipe. My compression is good, leak down is good, boost leak test is good. There is no obvious indications of gasket leaks around the intake or exhaust manifolds, and no soot build up on any of the other exhaust gaskets. I am truly stumped.

Yeah man, the whole fuel smell is what im am confused by. I mean i have read over all of the "stutter" posts, but none mention a fuel smell. I dono ill do some changing today and ill give you guys an update.

You may have a pre-turbo exhaust leak. How much boost are your running? I had a fuel smell and it was a mix of an exhaust leak and an IC piping leak. Since the car was running rich, I could smell the fuel out the exhaust leak.

Also, check your injector seals and o-rings. I had a dry-rotted o-ring and that the the main source of the gas smell.

Alright, I didn't get around to doing the boost leak test, plugs, or wires yesterday, i worked all day. But ill do it today. I was thinking NGK Plugs (gapped .028) & NGK or MSD wires.

Anyone have any imput on the Wires?

Alright so i swapped my plugs with the NGKBPR6ES plugs and my wires with NGK Blue Performance wires. I must say.... DAMN!

I am more than happy with my car now. It ends up the plugs were shitty and the wires were shitty. Swapped em', now my car runs like it should. Next project, E316G.

I wouldnt say more, i just have a bunch of parts that are keeping my car running, and the check engine light from going on. HAHAHA

Thanks for the help everyone
