I am planning to keep my stock 2g os housing for 2 reasons, to save money upgrading a non-necessary part which really won't make a huge difference and 2 for the ease of location of un-installing and re-installing my downpipe.
I was wondering if i leave my 2g o2 housing unported and run it with my evo3 16g, will it really hurt perofrmance that much ? Keep in mind i plan to run external wastegate very soon therefore all that really matters is the turbine exit port and before i installed it it looked almost identical in size to the evo3's exit, just maybe less than a 1/4" smaller.

Would it be ok to run it unported if my plans are to make 300-330 ?

Already have a 3" downpipe.

Yes, you want to port the inlet of the o2 housing so that you have nice flowing system and do not create turbulence.. It is in no shape or form necessary, but neither is that 3" exhaust or downpipe... My guess man is that you want more power out of your ride..? If you do not have the tools to port it, that is a different story. But if you do have the tools, do yourself a big favor a port it. I would not feel right telling somebody who obviously wants more power out of his car not to port the housing. You want more power now, but once you get tired of it your going to search elsewhere to make it. Don't waste your money and time taking things off and putting them back on later. Just do it right the first time, it will allow you to spend more time enjoying the car as opposed to having it parked and always worked on.. Believe me I know LOL. Later

Thanks man i hear you. I really don't want to waste money on a aftermarket o2 housing, i know the stocker can be made to flow good, just wondered to what extent without modding it.
I do have power tools at my house, but do not have the the piece to use on the end to port it. Anyone know what i have to look for and where can i find it ?

Some sort of grinding tool, which you might already have. And a grinding stone that they make in many shapes and sizes. And some time for hogging that o2 housing out LOL. Good luck with the new project.
