External wastegate setup on o2 housing?

question for everyone.. i have the rs49t turbo setup with it internally gated. I also have the same problem as everyone else with the same turbo, which involves the flapper allowing boost to leak by and for the wastegate arm not being able to handle hi amounts of boost. so therefore my question to everyone is, should i call up agp since my turbo is still underwarrenty and ask to upgrade me to a external set up and give them the extra cash? and my other question is, who makes a external wastegate setup on the o2 housing.. and does anyone have this? thanks

victory performance makes a nice 02 mounted wastegate. I run there dump tube for a internal wasgate. But I am only on little BT28. I like it alot.

im expeienceing the same issue w/ my pte smc 50 and its only letting me get up to 20psi.. so i asked what another non gate'd houseing would cost and they want 250.00 keepin mind i have probally under 500 miles on this turbo and i paid Extra for the internal gate she should freakin just send me a external one and let me send this back and be happy i dont ask for a refund... freakin lame..

yeah.. i learned the same way.. should of just spent the extra money and went external from the get-go.. oh well.. im gonna call AGP on monday and see what they can do for me..

i was looking at the sbr o2 housing for external wastegate.. but my question now is how would it work with my turbo thats already internally gated.. what will have to be done in order to make this jump from internally gated to externally gated on the o2 pipe?

You would need to completely take your wastegate flapper off and port that hole out.

If you were to mount the external gate on your manifold, then you would weld that flapper shut.
