I'm having a major brain fart. I can't find where this plugs into. It's the 10mm nut on the alternator. I remember it being a spade connector on the alternator wiring harness, but I can't find an unplugged one WTF:confused:

Yeah, its part of that main harness but when I looked at it closer it looks like it's some sort of ground or support bracket for the harness. It bracket hooks around the main harness and then bolts to that spot on the alternator.

Hey, on my car there is nothing hooked to that 10mm nut that's pictured. It looks just the way your's does. I think I'm gonna eventually run a ground off of it.

Yea, I'm also wondering if that's a ground and if it is, is it a ground for the alternator (ground to chassis) or is a ground for the alternator wiring harness

I traced the wires from the harness all the way up (cut the heatshrink) and there is no sign of a missing/detached/frayed wire anywhere. Wires that are present are : alternator power, dummy oil pressure light, oil pressure gauge, wire that goes to the power steering (little cap), and pigtail harness for alternator.

Any other suggestions?

Personally, I think that, that support bracket is just that.... a bracket. Not a ground. The reason I say this is there is electral taped around the end of the bracket. And there is wire loom wrapped around the wiring harness. So there is no metal to bare wire contact.

Yeah, I just recently changed my alternator and when I removed the old one there was nothing connected there and I didn't connect anything to that spot on the new one. I'm going to ground it to the chasis when I do my own grounding kit here in the future.
