[RESOLVED] Q on Proper installation of split washers

I just got new SS studs from ssstuds.com. In the package, they included flat washers and split washers.

Now, if I understand correctly, split washers work by biting into two surfaces and prevents them from counter-rotating.

Here's my question: I can't see how you could use a flat washer AND a split washer on the same stud. Wouldn't you want the split washer between the flange and the nut? If you put a flat washer in there somewhere, it would spin?

So should I do,

Nut
Split Washer
Flange

or some other combo?

And what color Loctite do you use to hold the studs in the head and the nuts on the studs? I used blue last time on OEM studs and copper nuts, but those came loose. Most of the studs screwed out before the nuts came off the studs.

Splits do more than bite into the surface, they provide pre-load so yes they can be used with flat washers. The proper order is flat washer first, split, then nut or bolt.

See, that's what I though, but a few online sources said it was the biting that held them. Ok. thanks guys. I'll run them like you mentioned.
