Didn't mean to highjack that other thread! I apologize! A leaking TB won't let any boost build up? I mean, I get absolutly NO BOOST! The Big 16G is new. All i get is a whining spool.

You need more info in this thread. Cause it sounds like you answeered your own question. Put a new factory gasket on the throttle body and tighten it up. But sounds like you have bigger issues if you have no boost at all. If you just installed this turbo you must of left some thing out. Check to make sure the wastegate arm moves.

What is there to leave out? yes the wastegate arm moves! I also checked and there is no shaft play. I have a 97 gst that i use for parts, I am going to try and swap them out tonight to see if that's my problem.

I did a boost leak check and no major leaks! Now theres no spool no more whining and still no boost. I dont know what else it could be. Any help please. Thanks anyways for all the help. Even tough most was about how to post threads or what not. I'll do what I always do.. figure it out on my own

No need to get hostile. Its just hard to diagnose with not enough info. And my first question is ... Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? If you answered NO to this and are using the stock 2g gauge and its reading zero all the time your MAF is unplugged. If you answered YES and you still have ZERO boost your gauge is broken. If you have no boost leak and the turbine still spins you should have + amounts of boost period.

If you dont either your GAUGE O METER is off or something is unplugged.

Sorry frustraded! Yes i do have a boost gauge, and workes because when i did a pressure check it did show 10-15 psi and when the car is on its still reads VAC and zeros out with the car off!

You have the charge pipes all hooked up correctly and no boost leaks pre TB? I cant think of anything that would cause the car to have NO BOOST. Will it even run? Check to see if the compressor wheel free spins. Post up

I put heavier clamps on all my pipes the wheel spines free on the intake side, the cars and idles perfectly just runs all a regular four banger, and the whining stopped. If the TB was leaking i should of been able to hear air leaking right? but i didn't. quick question. should the hose coming of the fuel pressure regulator pop off when doing a pressure test?

A boost leak test? Negative on that. You shouldnt be messing with that line at all. If your running pressure into the intake manifold then yes it could but if your going to check for boost leaks that way make sure you prop open the TB with a scewdriver or something. That away your getting the pressure to the IC piping.

Its best to spray everything down with soapy water and try to use at least 20PSI if your getting ZERO boost something is wrong. If you didnt open the TB and ran pressure into the Mani and blew off the FPR hose then you didnt actually do a boost leak test. You just pressure tested the manifold ONLY

if no boost is building maybe the WG flapper is offset but still connected or damaged.

+1 you said the arm moves but is the flapper seating? That would make sense as well... Which turbo are you running? Ive seen some of the ebayers with adjustable WGA vibrate and the jamnut comes loose and then the flapper slowly works its way open.

There is no way you can have that big of a boost leak and have the car idle ok. I agree with the boost gauge being bad or not accurate or the maf being unplugged and the car is probably running on safe mode. What brand gauge is it? And how does the car actually drive? Even my brothers car running on 3 cylinders was able to muster up a few lbs of boost. This fix sounds so easy but just keep us posted on any updates you are doing to figure it out.

i just read your other post about the ebay turbo, 20 psi spikes and now no boost its your waste gate , pretty sure of that, u may have to set your wg actuator hope this helps you.

if the waste gate opens up then it's just bypassing the boost and it should run like a N-A car. You might be able to get a pound here or there but once pressure builds it'll just push it open

Thanks guys for your help! I took the turbo off the car, and as i went to put it on the table...... a fin fell out! i got a defective turbo! I'm in the process of getting it warrantied. Thanks for all your help!
