[RESOLVED] Need help removing bumper ASAP

Hey! I have gotten every last bolt out except for these four plastic bolts located within the opening of the bumper? This site

2G Bumper Removal 98 Eclipse RS

does not mention these bolts.

every time i try unscrewing one it starts to strip.(I HAVE ALREADY STRIPPED 2)

I have removed:
Two bolts next to the yellow/orange exterior lights
5 on top of bumper
4 plastic screw under bumper

What else?????

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

there are two bolts on each bumper support bracket. take those bolts out and the bumper and bumper supports should come together after that. look on each rail beside the motor on the left and right side. there are two pretty good size holes were you can see two bolts take them out and pull the front end apart.



if done like i mentioned you dont have to take out those plastic tabs.

use a flathead and put it between the srew and the bumper and while unscrewing pry it out a little or you can just pry them out they are plastic and will most likely break

Not sure if the Talon is the same as the Eclipse, but if so there will also be a couple of those plastic screws under both headlights, which you can't get at unless you remove the headlights. You should just remove the bumper cover with the actual bumper as mentioned above. Those four bolts are on the support rails (two per side), go under the car & look abit back fromt the rad support & you should see them. Once these are remove, the whole bumper cover & bumper will slide out the front of the frame rails.

To remove those plastic screws, put some pressure on the back side with your fingers, which if done correclty with allow the threads to engauge properly & your should be able to screw them out (if you haven't stripped them too bad already)

the talons are the same. just pull everthing out at once and you dont have to worry about those plastic tabs. unless you need too.

Yaaaa..... I'm 99% I'm retarded. I forgot to take out the four big bolts that attach to the arms of the bumper. There was no need for me to attack those innocebnt bollts like that. If you ever see my car in public don't look in the gap for those for bolts, I straight up raped them.

, Yeah you don't need to mess with those unless you're seperating the cover from the impact bar. AzDave's writup that's linked in the 1st post is truly all that's needed to get the job done

just reach in the bumper and squeeze the fat part of that screw clip (the backside of the clip)

. Wow man . I had issues taking off the bumper my 1st time too, but it was on the sides right above the side marker lights.
