have any of you dsm'ers ever replace the clutch pedal assembly? if so how hard was it? i am now at the point where i have to replace mine becasue it was extremely old and rusty and finally broke when i was replaceing the clutch master cylinder. any help would be greatly appreciated! alldata and mitchell repair were not very specific in there instructions about how to do this so now im turning to my fellow dsm people LOL! :thumb:

I normally hate to give or hear this as a answer but searching is your friend here. There is some very good writeups here on tuners on how to do this. I know because I have used these writeups to do mine. It is more of a time cunsuming process and after you do it the first time it will be very easy if you have to ever do it again.

well i typed in clutch pedal and nothin popped up but i guess that would have been the wrong search criteria. my bad on that i should have been more specific in what i typed for the search. but i really appreciate your guys help becasue like always i got fast good responses which is why i love these forums!:thumb: now i guess i got some work to do:banghead: LOL, because that write up is exactly what i was looking for.

in the writeup you posted toofast82, at the end at the bottom of the page he says to just spend the 30 dollars through FP to get the new kit instead of trying to fix the old bracket by welding it. what is FP? i already checked forced performance becasue thats what i usually asssociate FP with? thanks again for your help.

no im not going to weld it i dont like to do stuff like that especially with something that is as hard to remove as this whole assembly is. i want to buy new but i dont where i can get a new pedal bracket at? the big piece of metal bolted to the fire wall that holds the clutch pedal and brake pedal. any ideas anyone? any help on this topic would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

I welded mine and then got to take it apart a second time when the rod end broke off from the welding weakening it. It was much easier the second time and I put in all new mitsu parts.

Mine rounded off the rod that has the flatened sides. So I tacked it and used a file to file her down put it back together and rewelded it.

It sucked big time. My steering wheel still isn't strait.

Is there something wrong with yours? You should not need that bracket. I would call a dealership for a new one or junkyard.

yea mine is physically broken. the bracket where the slave master cylinder rod goes through the firewall is cracked and it coing unattached. it is really rusty. so i need to replace the assembly.
