I am in the middle of an 2g auto trans rebuild/upgrade with IPT performance rebuilt kit and Translab valve body kit. The shop I have working on my transmission said that a shaft is damaged. When I inspected all the parts I didn't see any damage and everything looked good and clean. But they pointed to the very end of a shaft that seemed to have a very small "Burr" on it, like if you were take a piece of metal and slightly rub it against another piece of metal. I think they rubbed it against the other parts when taking it apart. It looks completely harmless and no metal is twisted, torqued, or scrapped like if some kind of grinding was going on. I want to just keep it as is and finish the rebuild with the upgrades, but what do you guys think. If i were to replace the shaft, where can i find it? I don't have any idea were to find that part.

These are the photos of the "Under Drive Gear" and the "Input Shaft"
They are the parts in question, they both have a tiny tiny "burr" on the ends.
The do not have any obvious damage like scraped metal, warped splines, or any cracks or dents. Should i replace these parts or just reuse them. Any advice would be appreciated. The transmission is from a '96 2g GS-T automatic(F4A33).

The shaft Dimensions: L=42cm

The under drive sun gear: 87.3mm x 51.99mm dia at largest end

Here are some closer zoomed in photos of the area in question. Also I want to add that the transmission never had any problems with performance before the tear down for performance rebuild and shift kit.

That top picture, where would that have been rubbing to create that burr? It doesnt look like its near the bearing or the other part that would have went into those splines since its up on that taper.
Looks to me like it has been there considering there's no bare metal.
I'm with GY, just file it down or sand it depending on how much you think it needs.
