When I pulled my transfer case off my transmission my output shaft came out.I thought there is supposed to be something holding it in.When I pushed it back in it clicked like there is a circlip or something. Is this normal? Thanks for any replies!

Yeah, when you open up the end of the transmission, there is going to be one little steel ball that holds the output shaft in. Basically, you pull the VC off, put the output shaft through, put the two bearings back in, put the VC back on, and the clip on top.

But if thats not holding it good would there be parts laying around in there or would the bearings just need to be replaced?
