to do an atmo dump all i need is a maft and a 3 or 3.5" gm maf then i can get rid of the factory one correct

Yeah, the GM is a speed density style metering device, so if you put it after the bov you can vent it to atmosphere. Just make sure you do your homework before you do the gm setup. Some people swear by them, some against and in the big picture of things, is it really worth it just to make a louder noise when you shift?

Atmospheric dump usually refers to the O2 housing/wastegate exhaust path being open to atmosphere.

What I believe you're referring to is Venting the BOV to atmosphere. In which case, yes, you'll need MAF+MAF-t, plus the pipes required to install it.

And there is no performance gains for doing it, also remember the design for our engines was to have it recirced, if you change the filter to a K&N FIPK and an aftermarket intake(or cut the tube on the inside) you will almost get the same noise level as having it vented.

whats your reasoning behind venting? just curious. there is not a need to spend that kinda money on a new maft setup just to vent, unless you need it help tune & compensate for upgrades you have done. what have you done to your car your profile is empty?

I beg to differ about the performance gains, but that's a discussion for another day. :)

I would not get a MAFT as a first mod or upgrade though, that's for sure. There's better things to spend your money on this early in the game.

ok here was my reasoning i was wanting to vent in the future and my current mas needs replaced so i was going to do this now instead of buying a new mas and then change it up does this make anysense or will it be a waste of time and money
