the oil cooler on my 1g gst broke today:(. it has a small crack in the side when i turn car on oil just pours out all over the place. is this a common thing to break? its a 91 and its all stock with a little under 140000 miles on it. where can i buy a new on?

ebay has oil cooler kits but you may have to make mounts for them. I like them though about 179 dollars i think. I bought a 300 dollar one on ebay, I wish I found the cheaper one before. Mine is a very nice kit and it looks like the less expensive kits and probably is by the same company.

i think it was a different part that broke, like the oil filter housing, its the piece that the oil filter is on and the oil pressure gauge is on that bolts to the side of the motor... what part is it and where can i buy it???

Get an aftermarket unit with larger volume. There are many high quality units available. If I remeber I think a company called Sertrab makes good coolers

OP already said the OFH broke, not the actual oil cooler.

I would recommend jnztuning.net for your OEM replacement needs. You can get a brand spankin new one for very cheap through them. I also believe extremepsi sells them. Don't forget a new gasket and crush washers!

Sorry, it sounded like the external oil cooler cracked(air to oil cooler) not the liquid/ oil cooler.

However, it might not be a bad time to upgrade to the earlier version with air/oil cooler if you are already replacing the filter housing.

You have a water cooled 1991-1994 6 bolt oil filter housing. You can easily tell from the water line that is right under the oil filter. There are 3 exposed bolts that you can easily take out to remove the OFH, the 4th one is under the timing cover.

I was wondering if someone could post pics of the coolent lines that go to the oil filter housing, and the complete routing. I can't remember where they were ran, because I did a 6 bolt swap in my 1994 talon.
This would help alot. I can find any info on that part of the cooling system.

Thanks.
