Does anyone know if you can reset the needle on an Autometer boost guage? For some reason mine became 6 psi off about a week ago. Has this ever happened to anyone before?

My friend had that happen to his expensive Defi boost gauge and thought it was permanently broken so he gave it away, but the guy he gave it to got it to work again, so I'm pretty sure you can do something to them to get it to sit back at 0. Unfortunately, I don't know how he got it to work again.

depending on how long youve had the gauge it may still be covered by warrenty and you can send it back to autometer for repair

I got my Autometer Boost Gauge in a couple of weeks ago. Mine came in a box and on the bottom it says "This product will be free from defects and workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of the original purchase." So if I were you I'd box it back up and make them send a new one. No sense in trying to get a semi-broken gauge working when you can wait and get a brand new one.

That's the problem, I bought it over a year ago. Between then and now, it worked fine. But like I stated earlier, it just became off by 6 psi. I noticed it when I turned the car off and the guage still read 11 inches of vacuum. I thought it was a pinched line, but it wasn't. So I disconnected it and tested it against a digital guage that we have at work and it said it was off by 6 psi. I just figured I would try to fix it before I spent $60 on a new one.

i would still try and get in contact with autometer and see what options they give you they may be able to repair it for you still for a charge. might be cheaper then buying a new one

Keep us posted. Mine is off by only about 1 psi and it drives me crazy. I think I'm going to buy an electric boost gauge to fix it though so It never happens again.
