Replacing Waterpump, Does BS Belt Have To Come Off?

Just like the title says, do I have to take off my bs belt to replace my waterpump. It says I need to in my manual, but I don't understand why.

Balance Shaft, I might be wrong here but i thought you could change the water pump with removing the balance shaft belt.

Hah, i wasn't even thinking of it because it doesn't really have anything to do with taking off the water pump. I put a water pump in my 94 eclipse, the balance shaft belt was nowhere near being in the way of the water pump. So, no you shouldn't have to because it's not in the way.

So I guess this means you got your car started? I was reading your other thread, where you couldn't start it.

You never posted what happened.

Remember other people use this board, too.

And they are looking for insight. So post your SOLUTION as well, don't just abandone your threads once you get it figured ouut, it's kinda rude.

In other words, go back to your thread, and let us know what you did to solve the problem (like when your car wouldn't start after you put the new head on).
