Well it happened to me twice, so I figured id take a couple pics in case anyone else has had this problem.
1. Tape off the braided line where you plan to cut it to keep it from fraying.
2. Cut the braided line with a dremel.
3. Press on the AN fittings
4. Dip the other end of the fitting in oil before you thread it in.
There's youtube videos on this so look those up if you're confused.
For the rubber line I would
1. Just cut the line
2. Clamp vice grips to the end of the hard line to keep it from twisting.
3. Take a 3/4" wrench and take the old rubber line ends off.
4. The adapter fitting was an 11/16" so I used a wrench for that. I took vice grips and tightened it on to the hard line coming off the sending unit & under the car to keep it from twisting.
5. Then tighten on the new braided line using a 3/4" wrench and either vice grips for the hard line or an 11/16" wrench on the adapter fitting to keep the hard line from twisting.
Here's what I had to buy. I bought the items from Summit. I bought parts to make 2 of these.
I just put one on my 99, no leaks, no cross threading a -6 onto the fuel sending unit hard line...
Under the passenger side back seat.
Under the car
