Hello,

I have less than 1000 miles on my new timing belt and components but it appears my belt is not safe to use: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/cylinder-head-short-block/442409-what-my-timing-belt.html

I don't know if something fell on top of it (brake fluid etc) while it was in storage in the garage.

Knowing that everything has about 700 miles on it (new pulleys and tensioner) could I just re use those items and just replace timing belt?

Thanks:thumb:

I would NOT reuse the timing belt. Put it this way, pay for a new belt now, or possibly pay for new valves and pistons sooner or later.

If the pulleys rotate freely, have no play, and are in good physical condition, I would say its fine to reuse them. just make sure they are clean before installing a new belt. Same with the tensioner, if its still has a lot of pressure, you will be fine.

Def will not be re using timing belt. I'm replacing it (see link for pics). But I was wondering on the component parts (pulley and tensioner) being that they have less than 1000 miles would they be re usable.

So I finally got around to installing the Gates Racing belt and would like to see if everything looks good. Mind you I don't have any Balancer Shafts so the Oil pump marks shouldn't matter. The Cam gears look to be slightly off but I account that to block being decked and head milled for MLS HG. It's impossible for me to get them dead even because the difference in gap is so much smaller than moving a tooth over.

Everything lines up after numerous revolutions but does everything look good?
Thanks

If anyone can advise me asap as I just installed ets street kit my motor is idling horiribly. Would like to know if its a mechanical timing issue or boost leak.

Please help and thank
