Yes, I did search before posting this.

I have Koni struts with 2in lowering springs on my GSX from the last kid who owned it. I have 19in wheels from my 95 GS that I put on the GSX. If you have any brains on your shoulders you will understand that I am experiencing some rubbing. I rolled the fenders and tightened the Koni's up as much as I could stand with no luck.

I ordered the Eibach Pro Kit springs to replace the ones I have on the car right now. They lower the car 1.3in which, accoriding to my measurements will just fit without rubbing.

My question to all of you is how do I go about replacing the springs?

I know it's a newb question, that's why I am posting it here. I have everything I need to do the job, strut spring compresser, etc. I just need some reassurance that I can do this alone. I found a tutorial on how to remove the struts but no how-tos on how to replace the springs. I figure that could be for two reasons, either it's so easy to do that once I see it I will be able to easily handle it, or I am just retarded and need someone to tell me how.

I plan to do this tomorrow (Sunday), so any responses are appreciated.

Thank you.

Buy a manual or look on vfaq. Granted the vfaq is for installation of Konis and GCs, but the general idea is the same. These suspension components are actually pretty straightforward. It was my first big modification that I did myself. Before you get started though, you should look at your setup that you have now and see if there are any worn out parts that you need to replace. For example, I ordered new bumpstops, top rubber spring seats, and metal sleeves when I did mine.

Edit: You might also want to look into revised endlinks. If yours are originals from the factory, they have a allen hex hole, which is a bi*** to deal with. The revised ones have a nut on the back instead. You'll see what I mean when you're down there.

Its cake man I did it 3 times once in a day by my self. If you know how to get the assembly out then you will be fine.

Once its out, put it in the spring coompressor and then grab the top of the shockpiston above the bolt so it doesnt turn when your loosening the nut. once its loose let the tension out easily then just swap spring and put everything backl where it goes. GOodluck.
