Replacing my oil pan, but ran into a lil problem

Ok, i'm in the process of replacing my oil pan, but i got a little issue. There's this bar thing, that seems to have a mount to the transmission on it. Well, this bar is in the way of me getting to 3 bolts that hard holding up the oil pan. Can I take this bar off to replace my oil pan, is it safe, what should i do??
Here's a pic. It's the big bar, with 2 bolts in the front holding it to the frame.

I know some1 has got to know if i can remove that bar with out harm..... I'm sure more 420a guy shave replaced oil pans.

1.) Re-size the pic to no wider than 700 pixels.
2.) Get a shop manual, or even check the VFAQ about removing the sump.
3.) Closed for bumping.
