The other day, my 93 Talon TSi AWD started running on 3 cylinders. I diagnosed the problem to find out fuel was spraying out of one of the fuel injectors. I took my fuel rail out and seen 2 of the injector o rings were torn in half and 1 insulator as well.

I am searching to find a kit with everything I need, O rings, insulators, etc. I looked on advance auto's website and found this Advance Auto Parts: Fuel Injector O-Ring Kit by Dorman - Help - Part 90100 . Will this kit work for me?

My Talon is automatic so I still have the 390CC injectors in for now although I already upgraded to the 14B turbo. I am looking to get 450CC injectors soon but need to fix the Talon with what I have right now. Just wanting to make sure this kit will work and is everything I need. Or if there is a better place to get a fuel injector O Ring kit.

the 390cc and the 450cc injectors are both mitsu manufactured, or by a company that does it for them, so they both will work with oem seals. Any seals that will work for the stock injectors.

I clicked the link, those injectors so not say anything about any TEL models. I would search by vehicle and get the seals for your specific vehicle.

EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

edit: just read you post about extremepsi, I would then go to your local autostore and order the rings for your car. They can look it up if you give them your make model year.

if you get it for a none turbo, then get it for a 89-94 non turbo, they are the 4g63 motor and I know the injectors seals will work with both. IDK about injectors for NT 420a, they might have different style injectors.

I called carquest and they are ordering an O Ring set for me but they didn't have any insulators in the system. So, I might just go to Advance Auto and get the set. Carquest is usually alot cheaper and is 3 minutes from my house as Advance is about 20 minutes away.

I really like Extreme PSI's set. It is a great deal and might order them this week so I will have them when replacing the 390CC's with 450CC's.

I'm not even sure where the nearest Auto Zone is haha. Just moved to the area about 5 months ago.

EDIT: Called Advance Auto. They can only get the 4 o rings. They can't get the insulators. Any idea if the insulators from a non turbo 2.0 would work?

I'd replace all the injector O-rings from the local parts store and get the insulators from Mitsu. Though it's going to be expensive, one can't be that bad and there's always a Mitsu somewhere nearby.

Hey, I'm about to order injector o-rings and came across this thread. Now I'm confused whether I'm supposed to get insulators, spacers, etc too? All I know is I did a boost test yesterday and one is leaking air.

Any tips on doing this job is appreciated :)

Spacers are the three plastic looking things that the fuel rail sits on where you screw the 3 bolts on that hold the fuel rail to the head.

Just ordered a set of o-rings :)

Any tips like on how best to relieve fuel pressure, installing new o-rings + spacers etc etc is appreciated :thumb:

"Remove back seat, unscrew fuel pump cover, unplug fuel pump, start car and let run until it dies, and then try to start again. If/when you take the fuel lines off the rail, make sure to have a rag underneath as some fuel will still be in there. And once they're off, tilt them straight down to the ground with a rag/bucket underneath to get all the fuel out." - snowborder714

"Disconnecting the pump and turning the car over will release the pressure. Turning the key to the on position does nothing. The gas doesn't spray everywhere. Liquids don't behave like gasses when pressurized. They don't compress. When you unhook either end of the fuel rail it just pours out. I have done it on pressurized and un pressurized fuel rails at least hundreds of times. The same amount of fuel pours out either way. Diesels use direct injection, thus the very high pressures. If your car has sat for long enough to cool down i bet the fuel pressure is less than 20 psi. " - donniekak

make sure you lubricate the seal before installing the injector into the head and rail, I just used spit. Its so it doesn't tear or rip on anything.
