Ok i know i'll probably get in trouble for asking this but how bad is it to do a clutch in a awd 2gb

I can't say for sure on an awd, but when I recently did my clutch I rank the whole motor. I was actually doing a 6 bolt swap but I feel like it would have been a pain to pull the trans out with it in the car.
