I just bought a low mileage JDM 6-bolt block, the bearings are in good condition but i'm going to swap it into my 2g and it's out now, should i replace the main bearings?
Any cases of bad ain bearings on dsm's??

Thanks

while youve got it out you had might as well do it , and while youre at go ahead and do the rings to. its a awhole lot easeir when its not in the car. that way you are starting out with a "brand new" motor so to speak. thats just my $.02 good luck

why WOULDN'T you replace them?! Bearings are like $50 - $75 and I'd do a clean up hone at least and new rings. You're basically starting with a fresh motor then. I'd even consider polishing the crank while it's all apart.

and if you do the bearing take the crank to a machine shop(or you can do it yourself) and have then mic it. had a friends engine eat itself cause the crank was worn and bearing didnt quite fit right.
