Repeated RPM decrease at idle

Lately while sitting at idle my car's RPMs will cut down by about 100 or so every couple seconds and then go back up. It acts like it's going to die about every 2 seconds. Any ideas on what this could be or what I should check out?

My only thought is that a sensor in the MAF is going bad? or maybe i am totally wrong. any other input would be great.

after driving it again over lunch, it is almost like the idle is too low. and then it's like not getting enough air or gas or something. this happens a little while in Park, but more so when it's in drive without pressing the gas pedal.

I'm having the same problems, but on a manual.

OK, so it is the MAF. The shop said that they have to order it from eagle and it is $680 and would take 2 weeks. My guy there told me to try to find one online or something.

What is a good one to get for cheaper? I thought it'd be between $100-$200, wtf? I don't really know much about MAF, so any help would be great.

thats rediculous. You can get a full translator setup for 300 or so. Or you can get a used one for real cheap. Search in the classifieds or ebay.

wow thats the most expensive MAF i have heard of. check the classifieds here someone will have one

seriously, that is crazy. does anyone know of an online store that i could get this from? probably not a common item. one of the dejon tool intakes looks like it comes with a MAF and it is only $130. is this true?
