Well guys, I have a 90 AWD TSi, and it came with the stock clifford alarm I guess.

I had a whole nuch of extra wiring in the engine bay, and I cut a whole bunch of that out. I have both of the controls, but the alarm hadn't been working (thats why I started chopping wires in the engine bay).

I have some extra cash, and wanna grab a new alarm. I've noticed a few little boxes, that say clifford on them, and a whole mess of extra wiring in various places. Has anyone removed an entire OEM alarm system from a 90 AWD?

I also didn't know if I start chopping all the stuff, its not wired into the ECU or anything like that right? I noticed a big silver (aluminum looking) box right next to the ECU, but about 6" toward the rear of the car.

I wasn't sure what this was either. The car also has them OEM cassette deck/CD player, so is it a small AMP or something?

Any help with figuring out whats actually in the car would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much for the space.

Oh alright, I didn't know because its wired in so weird and everything, even has a red light built into the center console, and a green security light also, near the check engine light...

Did all models come with a green light that lights up, and reads "security" everytime you shut down the car on the dash?

Thanks alot, sorry for the confusion!

The green security light is the OEM alarm.. The red light is for the aftermarket one.
