Removing auto tranny gsx

This is a dumb question i know. I have ZERO experience w the awd platform. I will doing a awd swap on my 97 gst using the 95 auto tranny,case,rear and everything else. I have a 100% complete donor car. List is long.

My question really is: I dont need to pull the motor on the 95 if i dont have to. I know with a 5spd fwd its quite easy to just pull the tranny by itself. Can i remove the auto tranny on the 95 and tcase with the motor still in? Or is it way too much work? I would like to get started rebuilding the valve body and sending the tranny to the local shop so they can put in a full clutch kit and all seals while im down for awhile. Hope this thread gets some views. Thanks

. Transfer case is only a few bolts its easy to remove.

I typed before i read. My damn chilton was in my desk... yea it says remove driveshaft, tcase, THEN all bolts for the tranny and it should come out.When i install it in the 97 after the swap i will put the engine and tranny together before dropping it in. I am pulling the motor on the 97 for some new pistons, bse, and major port work on the head. Seems straight forward, just removing the flexplate bolts will be something new for me. but shouldnt be complicated or make it a problem. I hope

New seals on the tcase too of course. Should i get this "yoke seal" ive heard horror stories about? As the car sits now theres not one drop of tranny or tcase fluid leaking but its not moving either. I think im gonna replace everything i can just to be safe.
