Is it possible to remove the rev limiter without a having an eprom chip, I want to shift at 6,000 but my car won't let me go past 4,500. I mean I do have a eprom ecu that I bought but it is a turbo ecu instead of a non-tourbo. But my question is can I still use it in my car?

umm, yes you can use the ECU, why cant u shift above 4500?

edit: oh your car is none turbo, Nevermind then i dont know.

You shouldn't have a 4500 rpm rev limit. I believe the rev limit for a N/T is somewhere around 7000 rpm's.

I have a 95 n/t now and my red line is 7k with rev limiter at just below 7.5k. my old laser 1.8L had a 6k redline with rev limiter at 6250 or so. if you have a 2.0 n/t it should be the same with 7k redline and just under 7.5k rev limit. if it is not letting you rev over 4.5k you might want to have that checked. i remember i installed a strut tower brace on my 1.8 and after time the wires to the throttle position sensor in the throttle body rubbed thru and broke from hitting the brace and the car wouldnt rev over like 3k but i couldnt get the car over 40mph. 4500 is way too low. have that checked

I don't know why I can't get the car to go past 4,500 rpm if it's supposed to be 7,000??? Could it possibly be a faulty ecu???

1g n/t does not equal 2g n/t....fyi, 420a rev limit is usually ~7200rpms ;)

Well...this is the 420a Tech forum, so not many of us here are really going to be able to help you. I'm sure if you posted in the 4g63 area, you would have your answer in no time at all :thumb:

I have a 94 nt and i shift at like 7500 sometimes and it never once has limited me, something is definitely wrong with your car. What though, I don't know.

You guys have rev limiters?!?!
I go atleast once a month over 7.5 grand in my N/T that is practically stock... I have NEVER hit a rev limiter... I also have yet to hit a speed limiter... what is up with that? Am I some sort of special or somethin...
