all my interior plastic panels on my 1G are pretty much crap in apperance but I have them all. I was looking on DSM trader and I'm looking at buying some used ones that are in great condition. Shortly after I asked the guy to send me pictures I thought to myself....hey..what if I just take the old panels put a thin layer of glass over them. Then I have two options from there. Use the old panels with the glass layer or take that glass layer seperated from the original panel and glass the backside building up a full new glass panel. I could do some modifications to the shape if I so choose.
I think glass coating the existing panels would be easiest. I could then sand and paint them what ever color I choose. I don't think this would be much hassle and could possibly be better than getting newer used ones.
The biggest concern with that is slightly increases size and the glass possibly seperating from the panel. which lead me to the though of using VERY thing coat over the factory panels then using that thickening the backside of it.
Any comments/sugestions are very appreciated.
