Looking for some O.E. O2 sensors for my 420A, but not a huge fan of Bosch. The Denso ones look pretty reasonably priced on autozone.com, but I haven't had any sort of experience with these (durability, longevity, etc.). I guess what I'm asking is if anyone here knows a good place to get a good, reliable set of O2 Sensors (upstream and downstream...my car is throwing codes for both of them) for a good price?
Also, on a side note, I know the O2 sensors send readings (by way of voltage) back to the ECU, but would a bad or failing O2 sensor cause the motor to lose fuel economy or stall out occasionally? At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot here, I am under the impression that the sensor's readings cause the ECU to adjust air/fuel ratio, and that a bad O2 sensor could cause an improper air/fuel ratio situation to happen (i.e. the sensor is reading the oxygen level wrong, therefore adds more fuel to compensate, causing the motor to run rich, and the car to lose fuel economy). I've been getting much worse fuel economy since my car started throwing the codes, am I on the right track in thinking that simply replacing the sensors will help to bring my fuel economy back, and stop my car from stalling randomly (it only stalls once in awhile, and only when I'm braking hard).
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
