i just installed my knock off type BOV..they gave me an injen intake path for free, but it doesn't have the path to recirculate the BOV. So my question is for our DSM's should we recirculate or not ?...Because if its better to recirculate i will sell the intake path and buy a new one...

So my point is should i recirculate or not ?

Recirculate it unless you have a ecu tuning program that will let you program your ecu for it (dsmlink, emanage, ect.). If you dont it you will have some slight negative effects. But if you have the software and want the loud bov sound then it is ok.

That not necessary, you do not need to spend that much money just to vent.
These softwares are useful a lot dont get me wrong, but they have another purpose, they're tuning tools. as i said in the post above, to vent all you need is a BLOWTHRU set up:thumb:

Yeah. I thought so....I'm just gonna sell the intake path that i got and buy one that allows me to recirculate...

Hey and another thing, i posted a different thread about my turbo sounding quite strange..heres the link http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265268

I thought by me putting the type S it wuld change the noise and make it sound normal again but it didnt do so..You think i might have a boost leak ? Some where in the piping ?.....

Well yea i dont recommend buying dsmlink or somthing of the sort just to vent your bov. Lol that would be rediculous. If you have the system definetly use it to tune your car. And you are correct a blow through system is the shit.

DSMLink does not allow you to "tune out" the effects of venting. Neither does a SAFC. You simply can't "tune" for it. You either change the location and/or method you use to measure airflow (via MAFt setup, MAP, speed density, etc.) OR you recirculate. Simple as that.

Venting without a blowthrough MAF-T/VPC/speed-density system is outright stupid. It's losing metered air, and no matter what anyone says about having nothing wrong with their cars, they ARE losing power, and the car is NOT running right. In addition, if they're doing it on the stock CBV, it's open at idle, allowing in unmetered and unfiltered air (which is why the stocker is a CBV, and not a true BOV), running ridiculously lean and bungling up the fuel trims.

Either swap to one of the solutions listed above, or recirculate. It's as simple as that. As an added bonus, most of the above tools can flow a lot more air with more reliable results, so you actually get a potential performance gain, along with the Riced & Curious BOV hiss.

ok, thanks...i received the non-recirculated intake path pretty much as a gift...i dont wanna sound like a "ricer"...i want to run my car like its supposed to and better...reason why i asked for other ideas, instead of just recirculating....but in the end. every one said that recirculating is better....now i have another question, what size coupler should i use at the bigger opening of the intake pipe ?

TearsforTalon, your venting the air out...Do you have any problems like your car turns off ?

I used to. I was running the greddy e-manage blue but i recently got the autronic sm2 standalone (http://www.autronic.com/page_files/sm2_kit.htm) and i cant tell you how awesome the car has been since. big power boost, super easy to tune. it idles nicely and i'm venting to atmosphere with no problems whatsoever.

running a standalone has fixed all my problems.:thumb:

The usual size for the MAS end of the intake pipe utilizes a 4" coupler. If possible can you post a picture of the intake pipe you got?
