it recently got cold here, and i'm hearing a weird clicky clank sound coming out of my value cover on idle.... any ideas?

just started as it got cold, like 30's... tons and tons of rain. I just had a headgasket replaced by the dealership 2k miles ago. so they ripped the valve cover off and it looked fine then.

might maybe a belt not sure its dark. can only hear on idle, barly hear when hood is closed, louder when opend.

sounds like a computer hard drive clicking only louder.

any advice?

if the noise is comming from the top of your valve cover..on cold early morning start-ups its probably a lifter. They tick because the oil has to get to them and being that the oil is so cold and so is the motor, it takes a while for the oil to lubricate everything. Im from WI and your winters are half of what ours are.
Make sure you just change your oil ever 3k and you will be fine. And also let your car warm up at LEAST 10 min. before driving it anywhere. good luck.
