I rebuilt my lower end, ross 8:5,1 pistons, eagle rods. My compresion is 145 150 145 150 is this ok. its seems kinda low.

the internet,... stock compression for a 7.8:1 is 168, but the service limit is like 120, and a good condition car (such as mine had when i bought it, but im doubting it keeps this since i did some bad bad things too it.....aka 17lbs stock...) has about 150 psi, but thats for a 7.8, the 8.5 should be higher....170 seems right as brand new it should be around 190ish

I come from working on Hondas and F22Ax and F22Bx Accord motors have 8.8:1 compression stock, 170-180 is generally what we see is pretty good. If you want more proof check a service manual for 2g Turbo DSMs, they have stock 8.5:1 compression.

I take it this is your check before you start the rebuilt motor? Your numbers might go up alittlw once the rings seat properly. Put a little oil in there and see if yoru numbers increase.

why does it matter if any of us actually have the brand? the numbers are still low, but if the motor hasbt been started yet dont worry about it. there is no point in doing a compression test sooner than about 500miles. that will give the rings a chance to be pretty close or fully seated.

once again ill ask does anyone of you have 8:5,1 ross pistons in your car :)

I run 8.8:1 so mine is a little higher. But none the less. It doest matter how has this CR. If you use hte search button it will show the proper results that we gave you.

did you assemble this motor or did you have a machine/performance shop do it for you? you might want to look into figuring out why your compression test numbers are so low. in the precess of rebuilding my girlfriends motor and she has 2g 8.5-1 pistons in hers. w/ 2 pistons with ring pack lined up and 5 lifted valve seals she was still running around 170ish in every cylinder. did you align the ring gaps?

sorry i kinda rambled on on that one
