IM getting a beat up gsx as my project car, it runs, but its ruff. I want to get the engine redone both top and bottom. altho i also want to beef it up a little bit. what should i leave stock and what should i replace, keep in mind i still want to pass a smog test in california so i have to keep it modest. i plan in dropping about 800-1000 a month. so me know what you think, now the car might have some crankwalk. im not exacly sure of what that is but the seller says it might be the cause of the problem.

First you have to diagnose whether it has crankwalk. You can search to find threads on that. I would do that first because if you start adding power it'll ruin your day. I just did a 6-bolt swap, but if you want you can just buy another 7-bolt. There are plently of guys out there making serious power on 7-bolts, it's up to you. After that I would look in the Tech area. There are 2 great layouts for pathes to take to greatness, hehehe.
