Is it possible to remove the rear engine bracket on a N/T without taking the engine out of the car? I'm swapping my front and rear engine mounts with the turbo mounts and I was thinking about taking it to a garage since I don't have an engine hoist, am I going to end up paying a lot of money for them to swap out the two mounts?

you dont need an engine hoist, just use a jack and place a 2 by 4 block in between oil pan and jack. just be carefull. and only do one at a time.

What needs to come off to get to the mount?
Im in the same boat with a friends car.
I was thinking the cai, tb, and intake mani need to be removed.

take the battery out and that stupid battery tray bracket, the intake piping going to the throttle body, after that you should be able to get to it

You can get to both the tranny mount and rear mount just by taking those off. And i do believe that the only connector you need to disconnect is the VSS. Just makes it easier to get around.

The front and two side mounts are easy. But check the part carefully before taking it home. both Kragen and Autozone have wrong parts listed for the two side mounts were I live. The rear mount by the firewall and tranny is the B!tch. I just replaced all a few months ago.

For rear mount. Take out battery. The battery ray can stay since there are the two hold up brackets under the tray anyway. Remove the windshield washer reservoir by removing the two bolts. and without disconnecting the brake reservoir, unbolt it and carefully move it aside. There should be just enough room now to remove the washer reservoir. Remember, don't disconnect the brake reservoir or you'll have to bleed the brake system.

Tada!! You can now clearly see and touch the rear mount. Use a jack under the engine. I don't suggest the wood over the oil pan but if that's the route you want to go, be careful.
