Rear diff swap

My 2g didnt came with an LSD rear differential. I have a friend that has one out of an 97 GSX. If I were to put the 97 rear end on my 95 non lsd, What else would I need to do the complete swap out? Is this like a direct replacement without any other modding?

The axles are different? Or are the splines on the axles different? Interesting...

One of the axles has an extended piece that splines into the VCU so the LSD will work. Without that shaft you're just using the LSD rear diff as if it was an open diff...

Make sure they are from the same kind of trans... (auto or manual)

So to make it work, I will need the LSD rear axles with the extended rod thing? are all 2g rear axles the same?(except the non lsd)

Both manual.
