I'm rebuilding my rear axle and having some trouble. I tore it apart again and am replacing the bearings since they're in pretty awful condition as the original owners didn't change the oil in their 8 years of ownership.
After installing all new bearings, the pinion height and gear backlash have been invalidated. There's .064" dead space between the front and rear pinion bearings. Does anyone have any part numbers or know a place to pick up shims? Parts only seem to be available for domestic pushrod powered axles
Need shims for both sides of the pinion
Also, MOD claims that the 3.54 axle is only found on the automatics--this isn't correct, is it?
