Hey everyone i have a question for you. The car i just got has the rear OS sensor cut the front one is there just not the rear one. it's been like this for maybe 100 miles since the person i purchased it from did this. His mechanic said it should be fine other than it will throw codes.
Is this true or do i need to get that rear OS sensor reinstalled ASAP?
Thanks in advance.

Obvoiusly the post-cat monitor sensor is there for a reason. Will the car run ok without it ?? Yes it should. Why was it removed ?? Who knows. Should you re-install a correct sensor there ?? If you want your car to run reliably & without dtc`c (diagnostic trouble codes) Yes. If you plan to upgrade this car with mods that include post-cat monotor removal, leave it as is until such mods are done & live with the p0420 code . . .

I did the Rear O2 delete on my car. No codes, No CEL and doesn't effect the car. The how to is in the Vfaq section. I spent probably 15 bucks on supplies.

Thanks for the info.
The wires got mangled thats why it got removed. So if there is a process to do a rear CAT Delete on the 420A engine I'll do that VS redoing the wiring. it i throwing a OS slow to respond code right now. I just wanted to make sure between now and then it's not going to harm the motor. I want to Delete or shell the CAT out so doing a rear OS delete would be ideal. I'm about to pull the engine out of my 72 Datsun 240Z start the winter turbo build project on that so this Eclipse is going to be my DD. I plan on modding the Eclipse guessing turbo but not until the 240Z turbo is finished so I want her to be very reliable.
Thanks again for the help i'll look in the Vfaq for the rear CAT delete process.
