The story is I bought a 97 gsx and it had a bad rear diff and axles, so I took my 95 tsi rear diff and axles out to put into the gsx. Replaced everything as needed and got the rear diff into the gsx. Drivers side went together fine and ready to go, but I am having a problem with the passenger side. I cannot get the lower control arm to go together because the axle joint bottoms out in the cup before the holes match up, like and 1/8th of an inch or so. Is there a difference between 95-96 and 97-99 axles? I know suspension set ups are different.

Resolved. The bearing in the axle cup exploded and the outer race got jammed in the end of the cup
