Rear axel issue

I'm trying to do the 4 bolt swap into my talon and one of my axels doesnt look like its in all the way. I beat on it with the mallet, i heard the lock ring click but it doesnt look right to me.

Definitely doesnt look right, Why was it out in the first place? is there any messed up splines on it? if not, keep trying to hit the axle cup but be careful not to mess up the axle

yeah i checked the splines and they all look good...
