real quick timing question

Stupid question....Theres 3 notches as to where your timing can be. It goes notch, #10, then another notch, and then the TDC mark. My timing is resting on the notch after #10 before the TDC mark.

On a logger my timing read -2 ,so which notch should my mark be resting on? the 1st , the #10 or the third notch?

I know how to adjust the timing, I dont know what mark my white dot should be even with.
Theres 3....1st, 2nd (10), or the 3rd?

Are you talking about on the crank? ... there should be only one place for it to line up... do you have a 6-bolt or a 7?

And this may be a stupid question but your adjusting timing with the car running and the logger disconnected and the harness grounded correct?

Yes im talking about the crank sorry, car is running, everythings grounded, and it is a 6 bolt.

Base timing should be 5* BTDC

The 0 mark represents TDC... The marks are either 1* or 2* increments... can't remember off hand. But you want the white mark to float at the -5* mark on the timing plate.

My mark is resting on the notch after the "0" but should be resting on the notch before the "0" ?

Correct. Towards the negative side.
