Alright I have a 2g and Ill have my SAFC in 3 days and then im going to get something so I can read knock. I plan on getting a logger and I know you can tell if your knocking by the timing but wanted something a little more specific . I konw DSM Link will read it but im looking for something a little cheeper. Ive found a few things I would just like some feed back on whats the best.

Thanks :dsm:

DSMLink.

AFAIK, nothing else reads knock thats worthwhile. Sell the AFC and buy DSMLink.

Nope, DSMLink is the only thing that can read knock on a 2g. Those knock LED's are worthless.

That's not completely true. An EPROM ECU with a KeyDiver Stage III chip will read up to 15 counts of knock on the stock boost gauge. Each division on the stock gauge correlates to five counts with the aforementioned 15 being the maximum. I've found it to be an incredibly useful tool in the absence of DSMLink.

Cheers,

Andy

^^^ That's really cool, I didn't know that it can do that (but I can't find any info about it on their website).
If you can wait, ECU+ is developing a new version of their hardware that will read knock. It's a little cheaper than DSMLink and you don't need an EPROM ECU. (Though I prefer the DSMLink option, but I'm a little biased since it's what I'm running :thumb: )

Can you give me more info on this. Where to find it cost... are you sure it for a 2g.

Here ya go, works well w/ the mods in my profile(-the C & FW so far). Cost me roughly $180 to have Jeff socket and program my stage III chip. When I got it back, all I had to do was plug it back in and the new chip did the rest. The stutterbox feature rocks too :thumb:, launches are so much easier and consistant, taking off with upwards of 10psi of boost, slams you into 2nd gear really quickly if your not ready for it :sneaky: :rocks: ;) .
