I performed another compression test today. I borrowed a different tester this time

121 126 125 128

120 124 126 129

120 125 127 130

that's 1234 order

wet:

122 129 129 130.

210 temp, all plugs out, fuel disconnected, WOT, etc

this is after my overheating incident. There's still no water in the oil. I'm thinking maybe the valve seals? It looks like I have a tiiiiny bit of ash on the plugs but they're new so it's hard to tell. I found it strange that it somewhat evenly tapers down from 1 to 4.

Ideas?!

Those numbers are below the service limit but still not too bad. I wouldn't worry about the overheating hurting anything. Number 1 is always going to go first since it is farthest from the throttle body when air enters the intake manifold. It tends to wear just a little bit more. Sounds like it just has a weak motor in it.

But it doesn't make sense to me (not trying to question your knowledge) there's not a lot of miles on it at all. And if the wet test came back with much higher numbers I would agree. You don't think I should check the valvetrain? Maybe grind the seats? When I do a BLT I can hear some air coming from the oil cap and I can feel it leaking through the breathers.

What's your elevation above sea level?
If its high like some areas of CO, your numbers will be lower than normal.
