Re-Calibrating AutoMeter Guages?

Well guys I ordered my boost guage and when I received it, it is off-calibrated by about 5lbs. I was wondering if anyone has successfully taken apart one of these guages, and fixed this problem? Thanks very much for any input.

If its brand new, I would request a new one be sent to you. Is it off after you hooked it up? Or just in the box?

How do you know its off I think my split fire boost gauge might be off.

Hook it up and run it first, it may center itself with a bit of use.

stick a screwdriver in the light hole and push the coil down lightly to lower it or up to raise it til you get it back to 0

Its not broken. WHen you hook it up it will show correct readings. As Defiant said, run it for a while and it will eventualy set it self back to zero when you turn off the car.

I have had it hooked up for a few days now, and when the car is shut off the guage reads 5lbs of boost, and it always just reads 5lbs over. I have driven with it like this for a while, and it hasn't gotten any better.

16vtawd: I don't have the guage right here with me, but the other day I took a look and didn't think it was possible to actually turn the orange needle. Is that what you were talking about? Or is there something, that you can gain access to - which will allow me to re-calibrate it?

The guage is still accurate, it just doesnt sit at 0 when it is turned off. I personaly wouldnt #### with it and risk screwing it up. Mine sits at 2psi and i dont have any problems

you can make it sit on 0 again,my gauge fell and it was off by 8 then I pushed on the coil from the back and made it go back to 0
