My friend has a 2g GS. 4" catback and cams.

On flat ground, the car moves compeltely normal, except for a rattle that sounds like its coming from the trans area. At first I thought it was the downpipe without flexpipes rattling against the bottom of the engine/trans. The noise has been getting worse and worse. I began to suspect the TOB as the problem progressed to only occur when the clutch is being depressed or released. Last night, we parked on a downhill and he tried to reverse up backwards a bit to get out of a tight spot and the car only made noise like a heatshield ors omething was loose and rattling like crazy. The car wouldnt move backwards uphill.

Im confused a bit on what the issue could be. I dont want to drop the trans and replace things before I can narrow it down. Any ideas?
