Random tube outlet on cool air intake

my friend and I took my cold air intake off to clean out my throttle body and when it was off he noticed there was a random outlet on the bottom of the intake tube by the filter, facing towards the engine. We looked for a hose to connect to it but couldn't find any so I was wondering if anyone had any idea on why its there and what I should do about it. Also, I just recently bought the car and the intake was always on it so i don't have a clue what brand it is.

I was the one who was with Haase and there already was an outlet towards the throttle body end of the pipe that had a hose going to the valve cover. The inlet by the filter doesn't make sense to me because I don't know what would go there. And also on the inside of it it looks all scratched and gouged up on the inlet.

Its is the valve cover line that runs into your intake. The best thing to do is go to O'Reilys autoparts and buy a little filter to mount on the Valve Cover. and go to the local hardware store and get a little rubber plug to put ito the hole on the intake. If you leave the line from your valve cover to your intake it will do damage over time because little traces of oil gets into the line over time.


Its a 10$ fix that will save you a butt load over time

Like I said before, that tube is hooked up right. Its the tube that is right down by the filter. You can barely see it in the pictures you posted of the 2 different cars.

Maybe it's a bung for Nitrous.

Anyway if the valve cover breather is hooked to the intake just plug up the extra hole.

So... there are two ports/nipples on the intake, correct? One near the filter and one closer to the throttle body. The one near the throttle body is connected to the breather on the valve cover. Is that all correct? If so, then the other one is probably for backwards compatibility with older models (i.e. the '95 and its pulsed secondary air injection system) -- so just cap it. Most car parts stores sell a variety of rubber caps. Stick a cap on the port and secure it with a small hose clamp or zip-tie. The longer it's not capped the longer unfiltered, dirty air is being sucked into the engine.

yes that seems like what I'm going to do VelocitaPaola, I know for a fact the I have everything hooked up right, and the breather hose from the valve cover is plugged into the nipple by the throttle body. its the one near the filter that doesn't have anything to hook up to so ill just do what you said and plug it. thank you
