OK guys,

I did try search but did not find and exact solution to my problem. I just got a 91 fwd turbo eclipse( root beer brown....ever seenone this color?) from the auction this month. It had lots of problems but i cant seem to solve this one.

First off...it will take a good 45-50 seconds of cranking to get it started the 1st time. The check engine flashs a few times while doing so. Then when i get the thing running it will randomly just shut off. I did notice the factory boost gauge acts really sloppy( shooting up and bouncing around to were it supose to be).

I changed the pump, coilpacks, massair. One injector was dead....replaced that. I tryed another ecu with one i got from ebay....so im not sure that one is ok.

I was gonna try replacing the coolent temp sensor and try another ecu.

any ideas or suggetions would be great.
Im willing to try anything.
thanks

To me this sounds like it could be a possible fuel system problem. From what i learned in auto's class, when a car with an electric fuel pump takes forever to start its because the the system lost pressure after you turned the car off last and it has to pump the gas all the way back up to the injectors??

my car does that as well. Takes awhile to start. I will run but stall out after it gets warm and driven about 20 mins.

ended up being the cam pos sensor. It was just faulty i guess. worked when it want to. Replaced that and the car runs golden.

thankd for the help though guys
