random miss and stutter in boost with erratic idle surging ?

well about a week ago i had this stutter when i would get to about 5000rpm into boost, so i replaced the coil and it went away. well yesterday i decide to play with the tune in tunerpro and retard my cams 2 deg, well after swapping the tune and retarding the cams i went to drive my car and as soon as boost got to like 5 lbs the car felt like it was running on 3 cyl's . i come back and let the car idle next thing i know its idling high and trying to surge and had a hesitation when i revved it. fuel pressure looks good all the pipes look to be intact.I'm at a loss ! this morning on my way to work the only way i could tell anything was wrong was when i got into boost other than that it ran good. an di also think it has something to do when the car gets up to temp !
 
Start with the basics, get the car back to oem settings.
Check your spark plugs to see if they are fouled out. Also check your spark plug wires.
I had a problem once with my previous gst, i took the car down the block and it pulled fine, took it back down the block and it performed ok until i went past 4k that it would sputter. Turned out to be the cables..
As for the temps going up, make sure your t-stat isn't stuck closed.
 
plugs look good but i have a backup set i can try, also i'll have wires tomorrow to put on it ! i don't understand why it was idling high and trying to surge. i will try a stock tune with just injector compensation.
 
Make sure your throttle cable and/or throttle body aren't getting stuck open either.
Clean your throttle body out with some carb cleaner too while you're at it.
 
Have yu taken the honey combs out of your maf? I had this same problem when I swtched to a 2g maf.. When I would get on it it would hesitate really bad like somethibg was holding it back and it sounded like the car was back firing

honey comb in tact but i did play with the little screw in the bottom of the mas before driving it ? i forgot about that.... but i did put it back and no change.
 
Put a boost leak tester on it. Looking at the pipes alone is not a good enough test. A boost leak will cause high idle/surge and will make your car run like crap under boost if it is big enough.

hmm thats wierd..whenn i first switched the the 2g i wired it wrong and it actually blew the maf. so i went though a bout 3 mafs till i got a unhacked one that wasnt blown! LOL

well i done one last week but that doesn't mean i didn't blow a gasket or spring another leak, i'll try to do one when i get home and i'll let you guys know the results.
 
guys could a bad knock sensor cause this ? i have been having weird timing pull through my runs and i know its not detonation because of a very mild tune @ 14psi so i have one ordered at advance but wont be here till the 20th !
