Alright, I've done a bit of reading and can't really find anything that suits my situation if it is even a problem. I just noticed that my tranny doesn't really always take off in 1st. I think its second gear, maybe 3rd. When taking off sometimes, it feels slow, so I back off the gas a little and press it down again and it downshifts and takes off. My last A/T car did it and I figured it was normal, but apparently these cars are supposed to go down to first every time? When I'm slowing down, I can feel the tranny shift, and whatever its shifting into, its shifting into it pretty hard, it shakes the whole car. I have no CEL and the car does downshift when I really get on the gas. Its just taking off from a stop that feels super sluggish sometimes.

How gentle are you with the throttle? Do you baby it all the time? Try unplugging the negative terminal for 10 minutes and re-try. The ECU/TCU adapts to your driving style after a certain period. Also, does it happen after a complete stop, or is it a slow roll? Because if you're rolling slowly and you get on the gas, it usually stays in 2nd (for me at least).
