So last night i was racing a couple of cars on the highway, well i missed a gear and instead of putting it on 4th i stuck it on 2nd. Making the car rev to 9k rpm for about a second. so i put it in neutral and just finished putting it on 4th gear. it drove fine, felt fine, sounded fine.
Well after that every time i try to get into boost it starts knocking. I will go WOT and at about 4500k rpm and @ 15psi. it starts to knock. everytime!!! Can the ecu be pulling timing due to the over rev? i never tried to turn off the car because i wanted to make it home first. Any ideas? maybe disconnecting the battery?
It is a built motor With 272s cams/Crower springs and retainers. rebuilt head. I get about 5 degrees of knock @ 4.5k rpm and the timing is at 3.5 at that point.
