i've had this problem the last few months and i can not figure out the problem. My car will randomly have a high idle. If i rev the car sometimes the idle will return to normal but sometimes it wont. It comes and goes but seems to be getting worse. I've even removed the head, rebuilt it, replaed all the gaksets and sealed everything. I've replaced the IAC and TPS sensor, I cant find any vaccum leaks, and the Tb is closing all the way. My one friend sugguested maybe a injector went static and is stuck open. But my wideband doesn't read anyything strange when this happends. How can i test the injectors? anyone have a clue of whats going on

i had a sticking throttle cable. So that was the major idle problem. But the car still has a random high idle when coming to a stop then it'll idle normal by itself.

ive had this same problem with mine in the past, like the thotle would stick and would have to tap the peddle to kick it back to normal idel, heres what the problem was with me its not the tps or idel control and when looking at the tb with it out it would always aprear to be working and would close completely. But, when moving the throtle lever on the tb i noticed that it would sometimes shift from side to side causeing it to bind. I fixxed this by adding a thin washer be hind the c clip located behind the tps. give that a look and see if that does the trick.

I know this threads starting to get kind of old, but I'm having this same "problem" too. I was assuming it had something to do with my IAC but it seems to be where it needs to be set at. It usually happens while coming to a stop or when I'm in a drive through waiting in line. My dsm just started doing this (along with randomley cutting of driving down the road and my RPM's randomly jumping to hell and back to warn me when it's about to cut off, but thats another story...) within the past month and I've been searching for some solutions. I'm gong to check out the throttle lever and see if it's out of sync and check back in later.

Check for a pinched throttle cable.Remove and test your ISC motor. I have nad this problem several times and the damn ISC motor was toast..
